It was once believed that autism was caused by remote, cold parents; most often the mother was blamed. The program explores the frontiers of our understanding of autism, which today is recognized as a partly genetic biological disorder. We visit the Princeton Child Development Institute and see the results of the Institute's highly successful science-based approach to autism, which has attracted professionals from around the world.
