| Thomas Armstrong, a psychologist, consultant,
and former teacher of children with behavior and learning problems
believes that labels such as ADHD and ADD often create more problems
than they solve. Dr. Armstrong feels that the behaviors associated
with ADD and ADHD (impulsivity, hyperactivity, and distractibility)
result from a wide range of social, psychological and educational
causes; and are not solely due to neurological dysfunction.
Dr. Armstrong believes that by
working with the positives rather than the negatives, educators
can help these children become truly successful in life.
This video provides an array of
teaching strategies that can be used to work with children who
are often diagnosed/misdiagnosed as Attention Deficit Disorder.
It focuses on educating students by providing them with nurturing,
stimulating and encouraging interventions that are good for
all kids. View programs in action that focus on a "wellness"
model of children and learning.
