With NCLB implementation, all children, including children with disabilities,  are expected to perform "at or above grade level" in reading, math and science.

The law requires each eligible student with a disability be educated, to the maximum extent appropriate, with those who are not. The LRE Continuum explores the five steps of the educational services continuum, from general education classrooms without supplementary services to homebound placement.
